Movies To Watch before you turn 18

My Most Favorite Movies Part 1 (As a Teen)

Hello there! People of the internet, and all of the people who came here because of me forcing you guys to click on the link of my instagram, twitter, and whatsapp.
So now that everyone's exams are coming to an end and people are pretty much done with reminiscing over school days, I thought, "Hey, why not make a list of movies that I have watched and loved, especially teen flicks" I know you could get much more better and professional lists of "Best Teen Movies Of All Time",but what you will not get there is me.
These movies are not in order as I love them too much to have them compete between one another as which is superior.
So once you are done reading this whole post, you can just comment how many of these films you have seen and also if you haven't seen any, just plan a good weekend, get some popcorn and tea if that's your thing, and binge watch all of them.

With That being said, I present to you my most favorite movies(as a teenager). You can watch them later if interested.:

   The Edge Of Seventeen (2016)

The Edge Of Seventeen stars Hailey Steinfeld, yeah the singer, with Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick in supporting roles. It is pretty much a coming-of-age movie, but it has the kind of humor and charm that most stereotypical teenage flicks don't have.
The movie revolves around Nadine as she discovers that her best friend Krista has started to date Nadine's brother and how she deals with it. The Edge Of Seventeen was just a very fun movie to watch and I did feel a lot like how Nadine felt alot of the times during my school life, since back then, even I used to be this kid left alone and abandoned and was popular for eating lunch with the teachers instead of actual friends.
Also, Hailey Steinfeld totally rocked as Nadine, an awkward Teenager just trying to live, and this movie just reminds me how dramatic I myself used to be. I totally related to this movie and also Woody Harrelson was amazing. He has these very charismatic and funny lines to himself in the movie, I always liked Woody Harrelson since Zombieland and this movie has made me his fan.

Watch this movie on a relaxed afternoon alone, since this is an R rated movie and there's tons of swearing and cursing, but if you are in your teens, this movie is a must watch comedy with a really heartfelt message, which is "You'll be fine"
8.5/10

 Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

Now, this movie is pretty old, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it. I was very reluctant to pick this one up but when I finally did pick it up, I understood why this movie is praised as The Best Teen Flick of All time. This is also one of the first films in which there's a lot of breaking the fourth wall so if you haven't experienced a character directly talking to the audience, you'll love this.
Also, This movie is a John Hughes film, so obviously it just totally captures the essence of teen life in the best ways.
The movie stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris as he decides to take a day off from school and how things pan out for him, the movie also has Alan Ruck as Cameron, who is his slacker best friend, who gets in situations because of Ferris.
This movie is one that must be watched instantly if you haven't watched any John Hughes movies yet. I think I'd never get bored of this one.

Also this movie is a PG-13 film so you can totally watch it without any worries about swearing and all that if you're someone who does care about swearing and language in films.
Also there's this Charlie Sheen Cameo in the film, so watch out for that.
9/10

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (2012)

The Perks Of Being a Wallflower is more of a serious movie as compared to the previous movies that I have recommended and it deals with more serious themes such as abuse while also having a lot of references to sexual content, drug use and yada yada yada.
Now, this movie is especially close to my heart because this movie speaks volumes on how being a wallflower feels like and I just totally loved the direction in this movie. The way the narrative flows is just so much effortless, the characters of Logan Lerman as Charlie and Emma Watson and Ezra Miller as Sam and Patrick respectively are just so well written.
The whole narration in most movies feel overwhelming but in this one its just the right amount as Charlie pretty much narrates the whole 1,385 days of his highschool.
This movie could make you cry at moments and will definitely make you feel nostalgic for a life you didn't have, but it is totally worth it none the less. It doesn't matter if you have read the book or not, I'd tell you Stephen Chbosky totally nails the direction for a director who has had no prior experience.
This Movie portrays love and friendship in the most honest way possible. It also features the amazing mr Paul Rudd. So that's a plus.
The actors did a really good job and I just totally lover Ezra Miller's character in this movie. Also Emma Watson was pretty. As for the lead actor Logan Lerman, he pretty much was exactly how I imagined Charlie would be when I read the book.
This movie has a PG-13 rating but I feel you should watch it as if you're watching an R rated flick.
The movie isn't without flaws, like a few scenes the pacing was bad, but despite all its flaws I love this film.
This movie despite its serious tones has some witty moments with this epic music playlist that you should check out once you're done watching.
10/10

Easy A(2010)

Easy A stars Emma Stone and is about Olive, played by Emma stone who also narrates the story of how a rumor got her into a huge mess.
This movie is certainly more light hearted and enjoyable, maybe it isn't THE best movie to watch but it is fun none the less. I would suggest you just watch it without knowing much about the whole plot all that.
Also this movie has a PG-13 rating and despite that I suggest you still watch it with a whole R rating thing in mind because it does have a lot of sexual references and also the plot revolves around a rumor and that said rumor is also pretty much related to sexual references. So You're warned about that.
That being said, this movie doesn't have that much of an emotional impact as compared to all the other movies on my list but it still does deserve a spot here just for the honest portrait of highschool rumours and the speed the fly at.
7/10

 Mean Girls (2004)

Now if you haven't watched this movie, I don't even know what to say. It's a classic movie. It's over a decade old at this point, so I think you should just watch it.
It's about Lindsay Lohan's character Cady Haron, who moves into a highschool and meets the plastics.
That's it. You're not getting anymore of the plot. This movie is so iconic to the point that its a bloody masterpiece. Also don't tell me you don't wanna watch it because it's a girlish movie. Shut up and just watch it. It is absolutely hilarious and deserves so much praise for giving us characters like Regina George, played by the absolutely gorgeous now, Rachel Mcadams, Gretchen Wieners and Karen.
This movie is a classic must watch that I highly recommend.
Again this is a comedy movie and not a coming of age drama so don't expect it to have all that much emotional value to this. It is hilarious to watch and its Iconic.
8/10 Look, despite an 8(because it doesn't have as much emotional impact on me) It is still pretty great. 8 is a very positive rating so keep that in mind.

Well, with that being done. I am gonna leave the rest of the movies for a part 2 so that I can get to have a bit of good flow of views on this blog.

Thank You so much for reading this and I hope you enjoy these movies.

Do expect a few more John Hughes movies and also a few Harry Potter flicks.
Do comment which of the movies is your favourite,
Also like and share this so that I can get a couple extra views. Thanks again.
